TECHNICAL DATA - TYPE XH (MELAMINE)

Type XH is a Thermoset Melamine Formaldehyde plastic media which is very aggressive and is recommended for stripping iron based or equivalent material where residual stress will have no consequences. This is also commonly used in the semiconductor industry to remove mold flashes and resin bleed on epoxy molded packages. Type XH media meets Mil Std specification of Mil-P-85891 Type III. It is anti-static treated and has the following chemical and physical properties.

Chemical nature Inert
Appearance Granular
Colour Multi coloured
Hardness Barcol 64-74
MOH  4.0
Tensile strength 5000 - 15000 psi
Elongation 0.6 - 1.0 %
Comprehensive Strength 33000 - 45000 psi
Izod Impact ( 0.125" specimen ) 0.2 - 0.4 ft lb/in
Explosibility - minimum explosive concentration 0.09 oz/cu ft
Ignition temperature 530 deg C
Specific gravity 1.47 - 1.52
Melamine Formaldehyde Minimum 95%
